Pop sensation Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce have officially announced their engagement, confirming the news in a joint Instagram post on 26 August 2025.
The announcement featured a series of romantic garden photos, including the moment Kelce dropped to one knee and Swift displaying a stunning diamond ring. The caption simply read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” accompanied by a stick of dynamite emoji.
According to Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, the proposal was a private and intimate affair that took place nearly two weeks earlier in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. The moment was captured by family call and video with both of their parents present, followed by a home-cooked meal prepared by Swift.

Fans quickly picked up on the symbolism in the engagement photos. Swift wore a $398 striped silk-blend Ralph Lauren dress while sporting minimal accessories, including her signature Cartier Santos Demoiselle watch. The ring, an Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond set in gold, was specially designed by Travis in collaboration with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.
The couple, began dating in 2023 after gaining public attention when Kelce hosted Swift on his New Heights podcast. Despite her preference for privacy in past romances, their relationship has been notably public—highlighted by Swift’s frequent appearances at Chiefs games and Kelce's support at her concerts.
Their engagement has set the internet abuzz and fans are eagerly anticipating what comes next—including Swift’s forthcoming album The Life of a Showgirl, slated for release on 3 October 2025.
