Celebrated actor Simon Pegg made a surprise appearance during Coldplay’s concert at Wembley Stadium on 26 August, joining the band onstage to play tambourine during their hit “A Sky Full of Stars.”
Frontman Chris Martin introduced Pegg as “The world’s number one tambourine player,” before pausing the song to welcome him into the performance. Pegg later shared a behind-the-scenes snap of the moment on his Instagram stories, captioned simply: “Rejoined the band.”

This isn't Pegg’s first turn with the band—he’s been affectionately dubbed an honorary member of Coldplay, having accompanied them onstage during previous Wembley concerts, including as far back as 2009. Throughout the evening, fans captured the cameo via social media, adding to the electric atmosphere of the show.
