In a recent interview with Radio Times, former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan revealed that he would seriously consider reprising the role—particularly if the project were helmed by Denis Villeneuve, currently attached to direct the upcoming 26th Bond film for Amazon MGM Studios.
Now 72, Brosnan joked he might return as a “senior citizen” Bond, complete with bald caps and prosthetics—calling it “great entertainment” and “lots of laughs” if the concept was handled with creativity.
Brosnan’s enthusiasm arrives amid heightened speculation over who will replace Daniel Craig following his 2021 departure. With Amazon MGM in creative control and Steven Knight writing the screenplay, the new Bond film is already generating significant interest.
Despite the buzz around younger candidates, Brosnan’s flirtation with the role underscores both nostalgia and an openness to bold reinterpretation in this new era of 007.
