Global pop star Ed Sheeran is trading in his guitar for a paintbrush this summer — launching his debut collection of abstract artwork, cheekily dubbed the “Cosmic Carpark Paintings,” at London’s Heni Gallery from 10 July to 1 August.
Inspired by celestial winks and Jackson Pollock’s splash style, these colourful canvases were painted in a disused Soho car park during downtime between gigs and recording sessions. Sheeran, whose parents both worked in the arts, says he first picked up a brush in 2019 after completing the Divide tour, and it quickly became his perfect creative escape.

The best bit? All proceeds — from both originals and limited-edition prints (starting around £900/€1,000) — go straight to the Ed Sheeran Foundation, supporting music education in UK schools. Damien Hirst was even behind the scenes, encouraging Ed to showcase his work and use it to give back.
Ed emphasises art is about joy, not investment, saying it’s just him “splashing colours on canvases… think Jackson Pollock but with colourful house paint”. The prints and originals drop this Thursday at 2–8pm — so if you’re in Soho, swing by for the launch and back a great cause.
