Julia Roberts has signed on to narrate an upcoming BBC comedy-drama series, stepping into a fresh role beyond her iconic screen performances.
The show, Just Act Normal, is a six-part British production based on Three Birds, a stage play by Janice Okoh—who also adapts the story for television. It premiered its first episode earlier this year on BBC Three.
The series centres on three siblings who must come to terms with their mother Jackie’s sudden disappearance. Chenée Taylor, Kaydrah Walker-Wilkie, and Akins Subair play the lead roles, with the ensemble rounded out by Romola Garai and Sam Buchanan. Directed by Nathaniel Martello-White and backed by The Forge Entertainment, the series blends emotional depth with darkly comic undertones.

Roberts’s involvement adds a star-studded layer to the production, offering her distinctive voice to guide viewers through the unfolding drama and intrigue that define the siblings’ journey.
