Dublin City Hall has launched a heartwarming new exhibition titled Memories Made in Dublin City, celebrating the personal stories and experiences that define life in the capital.

The exhibition was officially opened by Lord Mayor Emma Blain on 24 May 2025.

This unique showcase features a collection of photographs, stories, videos, poems, and songs contributed by individuals from Dublin, across Ireland, and around the world. The aim is to bring together cherished memories of special times spent in Dublin, highlighting the city's rich tapestry of community life.

The exhibition supports one of the Lord Mayor's initiatives to actively engage in positive ageing planning and care for the elderly within our communities, as well as to raise awareness of dementia in Dublin.

Visitors can expect to see touching and heartwarming stories spanning from decades past to the present day. Highlights include tales of summers in Ringsend, trips to Santa in Switzers, a tour of Dublin with the late Luke Kelly, the Phoenix Park 'coal rush' in the 1950s, and personal milestones like first dates and wedding days.

The exhibition is open daily from 10am to 5pm at City Hall on Dame Street until 2 June 2025. Admission is free, and the venue is fully accessible.

For those unable to attend in person, the exhibition will be available online from 3 June to 31 December 2025 at www.madeofmemories.ie
