There’s buzz in the air as Irish shoppers eagerly await news of a UNIQLO store landing in Dublin — but while the brand is definitely eyeing Europe’s capitals, nothing’s official just yet.
Fast Retailing (UNIQLO’s parent company) confirmed it plans to open eight new locations across Europe, expanding further into cities like Birmingham, Glasgow and Liverpool — the latter already opened in April 2025. That brings the brand’s UK total to 23 stores by year-end. But Ireland? Still on the drawing board.
Experts say UNIQLO has looked at Dublin as a potential site, but finding a suitable, large-sized retail space in the city has been a hurdle. The store typically needs a two-storey unit in a high-footfall area, and Dublin’s high rents and limited empty retail units are obstacles.
For now, Irish fans will have to stick to the online store—and pay shipping (usually around €9.95 unless your haul tops €70). Still, if a unit opens up downtown, retail insiders say Dublin is very much “on the agenda”.
In short: while there’s genuine appetite and UNIQLO interest in bringing LifeWear to the city, we’re still waiting on a confirmed location. Fingers crossed a Dublin opening is just around the corner!
