Beloved comedy duo David Mitchell and Robert Webb are officially back in sketch territory with their brand-new Channel 4 series, Mitchell & Webb Are Not Helping.

The six-part series will air from 5 September at 10 pm, marking their first return to the format in 15 years since That Mitchell and Webb Look.

Supported by rising talents Kiell Smith-Bynoe (Ghosts), Lara Ricote, Stevie Martin, and Krystal Evans, the show blends Matt & Webb’s signature satirical bite with fresh comedic voices. The result is a dynamic, inter-generational take on sketch comedy.

The duo has lamented the decline of the sketch show format—at times, sketch production had dropped to zero—but credits Channel 4 for boldly commissioning the series. Their sketches target modern absurdities, from pompous attitudes to the overreliance on streaming drama and topical satire. One episode has already broken Channel 4’s record for most frequent use of the "C-word," thanks to a recurring sketch titled Sweary Aussie Drama.
