Lady Gaga is back in the Wednesday universe—this time musically. She has released a new single, The Dead Dance, coinciding with the upcoming premiere of Wednesday Season 2, Part 2, which landed today.
The song was officially unveiled at Netflix and Spotify’s “Graveyard Gala” in New York City—a darkly theatrical event that saw fans invited to a Tim Burton-inspired cemetery setup complete with eerie décor and themed cocktails. Gaga made a surprise appearance and teased the track inside coffin-style listening booths, marking her return to the series both audibly and visually.
The Dead Dance is a gothic-funk fusion inspired by a breakup, portraying the shift from heartbreak to reclaiming joy with friends. Gaga co-wrote and co-produced the song alongside Andrew Watt and Cirkut. The single is paired with a music video directed by Tim Burton, filmed at Mexico’s haunting Island of the Dolls.

In addition to the song, Gaga appears in Wednesday Season 2 as Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious new Nevermore Academy teacher. The first official image shows her dressed in ethereal white with pale hair, holding the enigmatic character Thing, sparking intrigue about her role.
