A new television collaboration is heating up at Netflix: Nic Pizzolatto—creator of the acclaimed anthology True Detective—is developing a fresh series for the streaming giant featuring Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey.

Variety reports that McConaughey will star opposite Cole Hauser (Yellowstone) as brothers, in a project currently dubbed The Brothers Project.

Netflix secured the rights after a competitive bidding war involving Amazon and Apple. The series is backed by Skydance Sports, hinting at a potential sports-related angle. Though the official title, storyline details, and release schedule are yet to be confirmed, the pairing of Pizzolatto, McConaughey, and Hauser has already sparked significant excitement.

This marks another creative reunion between Pizzolatto and McConaughey, who previously collaborated on the first season of True Detective. Notably, Pizzolatto has teased a possible return of McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as their iconic characters, Rust Cohle and Marty Hart, although no formal project has been announced.
