Matt Lucas has announced he’s leaving Bake Off.
Matt has cohosted the show alongside Noel Fielding since 2020 when the show moved from BBC to Channel 4.
The pair took over presenting from the iconic comedy duo Mel and Sue, but have been staples of the show in its new home on Channel 4.
The comedian cited 'heavy workload' as the main reason that he decided to leave the show. He's so many other projects going on and wants to put his focus on Fantasy Football League
In a statement he said:
"Farewell Bake Off! It's been a delicious experience and I can't imagine a more fun way of spending my summers. But it's become clear to me that I can't present both Fantasy Football League and Bake Off alongside all my other projects,"
"So, after three series and 51 episodes, I am cheerfully passing the baguette on to someone else." he added.
