James Bond actor turned boxing trainer? That’s right! Pierce Brosnan is set to portray Dublin-born coach Brendan Inglein Giant, the forthcoming big-screen retelling of boxing superstar Prince Naseem Hamed’s story.

Directed and written by Rowan Athale, with Amir El‑Masry starring as Hamed, backed by Sylvester Stallone's Balboa Productions.

Ingle's journey is cinematic gold—from steelworker to legendary trainer who nurtured world champions like Hamed, Johnny Nelson, Junior Witter, and Kell Brook. Brosnan’s transformation is dramatic: spotted in character with stark-white hair, tracksuit, glasses, and gym towel—unrecognisable but obviously channeling Ingle's spirit.

The movie retraces Hamed’s unbelievable rise from Sheffield’s streets to global icon, complete with his unorthodox style, swagger, and triumph over racism and Islamophobia in 80s/90s Britain. Brosnan's casting follows an earlier fallout with downgrades and redevelopment, but fans are already buzzing at the thought of Brosnan and El‑Masry delivering a powerful trainer‑and‑fighter duo.

With powerful boxing scenes promised, a deep dive into that pivotal mentor‑student bond, and a production shot partly due to UK’s new film tax credit, Giant is shaping up as a knockout sports drama.
