After weeks of drama, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have struck a monumental five‑year, $1.5 billion streaming deal with Paramount+, according to the LA Times.
The agreement grants Paramount+ global rights to the iconic adult cartoon, worth a hefty $300 million per year.
This deal resolves a recent flashpoint: earlier talks with Warner Bros. Discovery and Netflix fell apart amid merger-driven chaos with Skydance Media, which threatened to derail the show’s future. Parker and Stone even slammed the merger as a “s‑show” and pushed back with legal threats after the Season 27 premiere was delayed due to contract wrangling.
Under the new deal, viewers can expect 10 fresh episodes per year over the next five years—keeping South Park as one of Comedy Central’s and Paramount+'s crown jewels.
