It’s official – the much-loved Mrs Brown’s Boys returns next month with a brand-new mini-series crafted from true stories!
Brendan O’Carroll has confirmed that a lot of the comic chaos in the show comes straight from real life, whether it’s moments from his own family or tales shared by others. That “it’s just like an episode of Mrs Brown’s Boys” line? It’s all too true.
For the first time since 2013, Brendan has teamed up with co-writer Paddy Houlihan, easing the writing process and letting them expand beyond just festive specials. Expect fresh storylines like Agnes crashing a talent contest on a mobility scooter, helping pal Winnie with her driving test, and even accidentally diving into erotic fiction—classic Mrs Brown mayhem!

Brendan also hailed the return to filming in front of a live studio audience, saying their laughter and reactions are crucial in making the show sing. Co-star June Rodgers added that fans queue early to witness the madness live, so the energy is electric!
The new episodes promise plenty more Mammy-style mayhem—dramatic family bust-ups, outrageous schemes, and a host of familiar faces. With real-life inspiration and that signature O’Carroll humour, don’t miss it!
