Another blow to the ITV bosses!

It was reported last week that Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were set to be announced as the new permanent hosts of This Morning.

The popular ITV daytime show has been trying to find its feet for the last year, following the scandal that led to Philip Schofield stepping down and his co-host Holly Willoughby following suit months later amid concerns for her safety.

The show has been kept afloat in this off period by a cohort of relief presenters, including Alison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary, Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle.

It seemed like it was finally returning to steady ground last week when the reports came out that ITV bosses had selected Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley to be their new full-time presenters.

But now it appears that they’ve been dealt another setback - Cat isn’t interested in being a full-time This Morning presenter!

An insider told the the MailOnline:
“Cat is the number one target to replace Holly, but negotiations are ongoing."

Apparently the 47-year-old presenter turned down the opportunity so she can return to America and continue to So You Think You Can Dance.

We can’t imagine the big bosses at ITV are too happy with that!
