Gardaí are investigating a petrol attack on a house in Drimnagh.

The fuel was poured on the front door of the property on Galtymore Road and then set alight.

It happened at around 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon however no one was injured.

Gardaí say no other damage was caused and that investigations are continuing.

No arrests have been made.

Local Sinn Féin councillor Daithí Doolan last night condemned the attack;

"Today's petrol bomb attack in Drimnagh was deplorable. Thankfully no one was injured. Those involved should hang their heads in shame."

He's appealed to anyone with information to contact Gardaí.
