Search For Missing Nóra Quoirin Enters Its Ninth Day In Malaysia

The search for missing teenager Nóra Quoirin in Malaysia has now entered its ninth day.

Nóra, whose mother is from Belfast and whose father is French, was last seen in the holiday resort of Dusan on Sunday August 4th.

On Facebook, Malaysian police said the search in a mountainous area continues in wet and muddy conditions.

British police have now joined the effort to find 15-year-old Nóra.

On Friday, gardai confirmed a liaison officer was being dispatched to assist with the investigation.

According to The Herald, an elite team of Garda hostage and kidnap specialists are also now on standby to join the search if evidence emerges that she was abducted.

Hundreds of people are taking part in the search for the teenager, who has special needs.

Malaysian authorities are treating Nora's disappearance as a missing persons case but her family maintain that she was taken.
