Gardaí say they are continuing to investigate all of the circumstances around the disappearance of a young boy in north Dublin.
Concerns for his safety were raised by the Child and Family Agency, Tusla, and reported to Gardaí last Friday.
The 7 year-old is last known to have lived at The Gallery Apartments in Donabate in north Dublin. Investigating officers say it has been a number of years since there has been any confirmed sighting of the boy.
Gardaí say they have been unable to either locate the boy, identify any information on his current whereabouts or any evidence that he is currently alive. They believe the boy is missing, presumed dead.
It's understood searches were carried out a residence in north Dublin over the weekend.
Yesterday an area of open ground in Donabate was sealed off. The site on the Portrane road is to be searched as part of the investigation.
An incident room has been set up at Swords Garda Station and an appeal for information has been made. Anyone that can help gardaí are being asked to contact Swords Garda Station on 01 666 4700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
So far no arrests have been made.
