Actor Orlando Bloom is embracing his Irish heritage—he has revealed that he has applied for an Irish passport. The announcement comes in the wake of his recent split from singer Katy Perry.
Bloom shared the news during an appearance on Virgin Radio’s show with Ryan Tubridy, citing not only personal roots but also the practical benefits of smoother post-Brexit travel across Europe. He quipped, “I’m getting my Irish passport.”
His connection to Ireland has been longstanding. Speaking previously on BBC’s Capital Breakfast, Bloom described himself as “an Irishman at heart,” attributing his affinity to growing up next door to an Irish family who treated him like one of their own. He also fondly recalled singing the Irish folk song She Moved Through the Fair in an Irish pub with friends on St. Patrick’s Day.
