Gardai have issued an image of a man they want to speak to about an alleged sexual assault in a taxi in Dublin.

A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in the white taxi on Emmet Street, close to Mountjoy Square, in the early hours of the 9th of December.

The man is described as being between 27 to 35 years old, with short black hair and has a beard and was wearing glasses.

He was also wearing a short sleeved shirt.

Gardai have issued a fresh appeal for information and have issued a picture of the man and the car.

Gardai have previously appealed to speak with anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the the Shelbourne Road, Ballsbridge, Merrion Road, Serpentine Avenue area of Dublin 4 last weekend.

They are keen to speak with people who spent time in those areas between 12:45am and 3:44am on the 9th of December.

They were also hoping to speak with anyone who saw the injured woman in the Mountjoy Square area between 02:14am and 03:44am.

Any motorists with relevant dash-cam footage are being asked to offer it up to a Garda station, and anyone who has any other information they believe may help in the investigation is being asked to contact Gardai.

Witnesses or any person who can help are asked to contact Irishtown Garda station on 01-6669600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
