12 Drivers Arrested For DUIs In Dublin During Covid-19 Checkpoints

12 motorists have been arrested for driving under the influence during Covid-19 checkpoints in the Dublin Region.

The figures cover a 24 hour period.

It comes as Gardaí step up patrols and checkpoints to make sure people are adhering to new restricitions in relation to coronavirus.

One car that was pulled over had a tax disc that had expired 90 days ago.

Upon further investigation Gardaí discovered the driver was returning from the shops, was on a learner permit and tested positive for cannabis. 

Gardaí are urging people to stay at home and stay safe.
