During a powerhouse show on 5 July at Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion, Ed Sheeran treated the crowd to an unforgettable moment—reuniting with his childhood band and special guest Brendan B. Brown from Wheatus to perform the early‑2000s anthem “Teenage Dirtbag”.

Taking to the stage, Ed shared that the song was once a staple for his school band, Rusty, and that they’d played it at a friend’s wedding earlier this year. He then dropped the bombshell that Brendan had flown in from New York especially to join the performance—calling it “one of my favourite moments ever on stage”. Wheatus’s Instagram echoed the sentiment: “BEST DAY EVER!!!! 💛🩵”.

This moment comes ahead of Ed’s new album Play, due 12 September, and caps off a European tour packed with surprise duets—ranging from Tori Kelly to Myles Smith. But the Teenage Dirtbag throwback felt especially poignant, tapping into early‑2000s nostalgia and solidifying its spot as one of Ed’s all-time top favourites.

With this much‑loved anthem back in the spotlight—and a star-struck crowd to match—Ed proves once again why his live shows are full of unexpected highlights.
