Consider our hopes fully up!

Earlier this month, it was confirmed a fourth Bridget Jones movie was on the way, with Renée Zellweger and Hugh Grant reprising their roles.

And to explain the premise of the 4th film, they had to reveal an upsetting development. That Bridget is a widow navigating life as a single mother in her 50s.

We're already mourning the loss of Colin Firth’s character Mark D’Arcy, but Hugh is telling us to hold our emotions as the script of the 4th film moved him to tears.

“I'll tell you what, I think this script for the fourth Bridget is the best one of the four. And, in fact, one of the best scripts I have read for in a long time,” the 63-year-old actor told Entertainment Tonight.

He also confirmed what we already feared, that Mark D’Arcy definitely won’t be returning for this instalment.

“It's based on trying to bring up two children alone, and then all mixed up in the Bridget Jones comedy, so it’s very sad, as well as very funny. It has me in tears.”

Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy is due to start filming next month and set to released in November of 2025.

We can’t wait!
