Fans of Call the Midwife have plenty to be excited about, with two major new projects on the way!

A feature-length film is in the works, set in 1972 and featuring the much-loved characters from the series. While the full plot is still under wraps, it's expected to bring all the emotion and charm viewers love, just on a bigger scale.

Also in development is a brand-new prequel series set during the Blitz in London’s East End. This series will explore the early lives of familiar characters, offering fresh insights into their backstories and how they came to be the midwives and nuns we know today.

In the meantime, fans can look forward to this year's Christmas special, which will be a two-parter, with part of the storyline taking place in Hong Kong. Series 15, set in 1971, will continue to explore key social and medical issues, with Women's Liberation expected to be a central theme.

With all this on the horizon, it’s clear that Call the Midwife isn’t slowing down any time soon.
