Irish Star Daryl McCormack Joins Netflix’s New Adaptation of Pride & Prejudice

Jane Austen’s classic romance is getting a fresh 2025 update—and Daryl McCormack, is officially on board.

He’ll play Mr Bingley in Netflix’s six-part series adaptation written by Dolly Alderton and directed by Euros Lyn.

McCormack joins a star-studded cast led by Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet, Jack Lowden as Mr Darcy, and Olivia Colman as Mrs Bennet, with Alderton serving as both writer and executive producer, and Corrin also co-producing. Famed for shows like Heartstopper, Lyn directs the series aimed at bringing Austen's world to a new generation.

Filming is now underway in the UK on this faithful yet vibrant reimagining of Austen’s story. With McCormack stepping into Jane’s world, fans can expect the same timeless tensions and witty class observations, with fresh energy and modern sensibility. Also joining the cast are Rufus Sewell, Freya Mavor, Jamie Demetriou, Rhea Norwood, Siena Kelly, Louis Partridge, and Fiona Shaw among others.

While an official air date is yet to be confirmed, production is well underway and release is expected in late 2025 or early 2026. With a brilliant cast and top-tier creative team, this latest Pride & Prejudice promises to honour Austen’s blueprint while delivering that sparkle to today’s audience.
