Man Killed During Attack At Blanchardstown Restaurant Named Locally

A post-mortem examination is to take place on the body of 26 year old Tristan Sherry following a gun and knife attack in west Dublin on Christmas Eve.

The shooting took place on in a restaurant on Main Street in Blanchardstown.

A wide cordon remains in place around Browne’s Steakhouse as the Garda Technical Bureau continues its investigations into the shooting on Christmas Eve.

The incident occurred at around 8pm, where Tristan Sherry, who is believed to be the gunman, was killed when he was tackled to the ground and stabbed.

A second man, who is in his 40s, remains in a serious condition in hospital after receiving gunshot wounds.

A post mortem examination of the body of Tristan Sherry is to be carried out by the State Pathologist, after it was removed to the City Morgue in Whitehall.

Gardai say no arrests have been made at this time, and add that they have increased uniform patrols in the Dublin Region, with support from armed units.

They are also aware of videos of the incident’s immediate aftermath being shared on social media, and are asking for the public to stop sharing these videos.
