Gardai Investigating Public Order Incident Near Guinness Storehouse

Gardai are investigating a public order incident involving a number of young men near the Guinness Storehouse.

It happened yesterday evening at around six.

A video has appeared online of this incident which shows a group of young men, one armed with a hurl, on Market Street South.

They appear to be targeting someone who can be seen cowering from their blows..

A man who witnesses the incident shouts at them 'that's enough lads' before they run away.

Gardai at Kevin Street Garda Station are investigating and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them. They have issued a statement.

''Gardaí are investigating a public order incident involving a large number of youths that occurred shortly before 6pm on Monday 14th August 2023 on Market Street South in Dublin 8.

 An investigation at Kevin Street Garda station is continuing.

 Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

 Anyone with any information that can assist Gardaí with this investigation are asked to contact Kevin Street Garda station on 01 6669400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.''

It comes amid concerns about a perceived rise of crime in the city.
