Dublin remains in the top five most expensive locations in Europe to rent.

That's according to the latest accommodation report from ECA International, a global mobility expert.

The average rent in the capital now stands at €3,613 per month, making it costlier than other European capital cities such as Paris at €3,461, Berlin at €2,354 and Madrid at €2,393.

Dublin has seen one of the steepest rises in average rental costs, jumping over 6% from last year.

The survey was based on the average rental prices for a mid-market, three-bedroom apartment for expats.

London continues to hold the top spot for the most expensive rental accommodation in Europe, with an increase of £121 or €136 per month, to £5,308 or €5,996.

Hong Kong has been named the most expensive location in the world for expat accommodation, for the third year in a row.

The average monthly rent is €10,343, an increase of over 3%.
