110 individual hotel rooms have been secured in Dublin to help homeless people during the coronavirus crisis.

9 homeless people have been confirmed to have Covid 19 to date in the Capital.

500 isolation beds have already been made available to help those either in emergency accommodation or sleeping rough to cocoon.

The measures are being introduced for individuals at high-risk of contracting the virus.

Pat Doyle from the Peter McVerry Trust says they’re badly needed;

"We have 51 people isolating, we have nine confirmed cases, we have about another ten people being moved today into isolation units."

He says they hope to pick up everyone else who needs to cocoon, tested or not, by Monday and get them into their own individual en-suite room.
