Dermot O'Leary and Fearne Cotton could present a new version of Top of the Pops. It's reported the BBC has given the show the go ahead, after it was axed in 2006. Apparently it will have a new look and format - and will air on Friday nights.
A source told The Mirror: 'Top of the Pops is a great brand name and the BBC are keen to use it. Some at the highest level are massive supporters of the plan and have given the go-ahead. The new Friday night charts could be the perfect tie-in – with Top of the Pops a brilliant start to the weekend.'
However, a spokesperson for BBC is playing down the reports saying: 'There are no current plans to bring back Top Of The Pops, however Radio 1 will continue to be the home of the Official Chart.'
Fearne recently handed in her notice at BBC Radio 1, while Dermot left The X Factor after 8 years.
Meanwhile, Sarah Jessica Parker is set to star in a new sitcom written by Irish comedian Sharon Horgan. Read about that here.
