Honey Don’t! marks a return to solo filmmaking for Ethan Coen, who co-wrote the screenplay with his wife, Tricia Cooke.
It serves as the second in their self-described “lesbian B-movie trilogy,” following Drive-Away Dolls (2024), with a third instalment, Go, Beavers!, already in development.
The film stars Margaret Qualley as Honey O’Donahue, a small-town private investigator in Bakersfield, California, who takes on a case involving a mysterious car crash linked to a cult-like church. Aubrey Plaza appears as MG Falcone, a police officer who becomes entangled in the investigation, while Chris Evans plays the enigmatic Reverend Drew Devlin. Rounding out the cast are Charlie Day, Lera Abova, Kristen Connolly, Billy Eichner, and Talia Ryder among others.
