The fourth season of Sherlock will start filming next year. The news was confirmed by co-creator Steven Moffat at the BAFTAs last night. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman will be back for the next series which has been described as 'dark in some ways'.
The writers recently confirmed they had devopled plots for season four and five, but scheduling was delaying things.
However, fans can look forward to a Sherlock special later this year that transports Sherlock Holmes and John Watson into a more familiar Victoria era.
