Oh what a night! Jersey Boys opened in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre last night and we were there to soak up the atmosphere and the amazing show. If you've ever been to the Bord Gáis you'll know the whole experience is fantastic. Last night was no exception, the red carpet was rolled out and there was a great buzz about the place.
Jersey Boys is about the rise to fame of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. You may be thinking you won't know many of their songs but you definitely will. They've had so many hits, many covered by other artists, 'Big Girls Don't Cry', 'Beggin', 'Walk Like A Man', 'Working My Way Back to You' and '1963 (Oh What a Night)' to name a few.
The four boys in the group are from New Jersey and fast became one of the most successful bands in pop history. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and sold 175 million records worldwide, all before they turned 30. This all came with some tough times which unravels throughout the musical.
The atmosphere was electric inside the theatre last night. Every time one of their famous hits came on the whole audience clapped, it was as if Frankie Valli himself was on stage. They had the entire crowd up on their feet clapping and singing along for the last song.
Whether or not you like musical this is a must see. Jersey Boys is running in the Bord Gáis until April 8th and they've just announced it will return again from 12th - 23rd January. Tickets for the January shows go on sale April 24th.
