American YouTuber Raymond Braun was in Ireland this weekend, documenting the Marriage Equality Referendum.
Posting the video to his Facebook page, Raymond wrote:
'If you're wondering why I keep posting about Ireland...this was not just a historic moment for Ireland, it was a historic moment for the world. Homosexuality was decriminalized in Ireland just over 20 years ago. The fact that they've come so far since then should give hope to LGBTQ people who live in countries that don't yet offer full protections and equal rights. Countries and people can evolve to the right side of history and it's happening faster than you might expect. I hope this video captures the magic and love I've felt in Ireland the past week. There was something in the air that made me feel so proud and optimistic for the future. Thank you, Riyadh, Ty, and Human Rights Campaign for making this unforgettable trip possible. I love you, Ireland!'
Not only did he chat to people on the streets of Dublin, he was in Dublin Castle when the result was announced. Raymond says it was one of the best experiences of his life.
