Apple TV+ has officially confirmed that the hit spy drama Slow Horses is coming back for a seventh season, even before Season 5 has aired.
Filming is set to begin this September, continuing the lightning-fast production pace the show has become famous for.
Slow Horses premiered in 2022, starring Sir Gary Oldman as the brilliantly grumpy MI5 off‑spinner Jackson Lamb, alongside a powerhouse cast including Kristin Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce, and Olivia Cooke . With just six high-octane episodes per season, the series is adored for its sharp wit, dark humour and taut espionage thrills — critics and fans alike praise it as one of Apple TV+’s best.

With Season 5 on track for release in September 2025, and Season 6 already wrapped, Apple’s green-lighting of Season 7 shows they’re not messing about. As Oldman put it, “It is just such a wonderful thing really to be part of,” calling the show “the wonderful gift that keeps on giving”.
The upcoming season is expected to draw from Mick Herron’s novels — likely Bad Actors — ensuring plenty more Lamb-led chaos and dry British humour. With production set to begin late September/early October 2025, fans can expect Season 7 in 2026 or 2027.
If you love espionage that’s smart, snarky and seriously binge-worthy, Slow Horses remains the gold standard — and there’s no sign of it slowing down.
