She’s saying goodbye to the soggy bottoms and beaver cakes!

It’s been announced that Prue Leith is temporarily stepping down as a judge on The Great British Bake Off.

The 84-year-old TV chef has been a regular fixture on the show since 2017, taking over from the original judge Mary Berry.

In a statement to The Mirror, Prue confirmed she will be taking time away from the Channel 4 show.

“I absolutely love working on Bake Off and am looking forward to filming the next series and meeting our new bakers, I am only stepping back from the Celebrity series, which is just a question of the filming commitment involved as we make these shows back to back.

So who will be her replacement?

Well speculation has already begun and we’re very excited about one name being mentioned!

A source for The Sun has reported that the one and only Nigella Lawson is in talks to stand in for Prue on the next Celebrity edition of the show.

Nothing has been confirmed yet but we’ll keep the fingers crossed. We can only imagine the flirting between herself and Paul Hollywood!
