The promo for the final season of Downton Abbey has been released and it looks like there's plenty of drama (and tears) in store. In the emotional trailer, Lord Grantham says, “If I could stop history in its tracks, maybe I would. But I can’t, Carson. Neither you nor I can hold back time.”
Speaking about wrapping the show, director Gareth Neame said: 'We wanted to close the doors of 'Downton Abbey' when it felt right and natural for the storylines to come together and when the show was still being enjoyed so much by its fans.'
The show returns on Sunday 20 September at 9pm.
