Peter Kay is back!

Peter Kay is set to make his TV comeback later this month.

The comedian will appear on a one-off BBC special called The Big Night In.

Comic Relief and Children In Need have joined forces for the televised event.

The aim is to raise money for people affected by coronavirus in the UK and to celebrate healthcare workers.

We can expect big surprises, even bigger prizes, live music and lots of famous faces.

Alongside Peter Kay, Catherine Tate and Gary Barlow look set to be involved.

A statement from the BBC confirmed that the live show will adhere, 'all current social isolating government protocols.'

Time out of the spotlight

The Big Night In will mark Peter Kay's first televised appearance in over two years.

We last saw him in 2017 when he spoke at the We Are Manchester concert following the arena bombing.

In the same year Kay cancelled his 90-date Have Gags, Will Travel tour.

The Bolton native has never gone into detail on the reason citing only, 'family circumstances.'

Peter was scheduled for a small comeback tour this year performing his charity show Peter Kay's Dance For Life in April and May.

However, due to coronavirus these dates were postponed.

The Big Night In is happening at 7pm on Thursday 23rd April on BBC One.

Better get the garlic bread in!
