Owen Wilson is back on our screens, bringing his signature charm to the fairways in Apple TV+'s latest comedy series, Stick.
Premiering on 4 June 2025, the show follows the story of Pryce Cahill, a former golf prodigy whose career took a nosedive after a public meltdown. Now, years later, Pryce seeks redemption by mentoring a teenage golf sensation, Santi Wheeler, played by Peter Dager. Together, they embark on a journey filled with personal growth, unexpected friendships, and, of course, plenty of golf.

The series has drawn comparisons to Ted Lasso, blending humour with heartfelt moments. While some critics feel it doesn't quite match the sharp wit of its predecessor, Wilson's portrayal of the down-on-his-luck golfer has been praised for its sincerity and warmth. The ensemble cast, including Mariana Treviño as Santi's mother Elena and Marc Maron as Pryce's quirky caddy Mitts, adds depth to this tale of second chances and found family.
Stick is available exclusively on Apple TV+, with the first three episodes ready to stream now. New episodes will be released weekly every Wednesday. For those curious to see Wilson's latest venture into the world of sports comedy, Apple TV+ offers a seven-day free trial.
