Big news for space fans—Netflix is teaming up with NASA to stream live rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, mission coverage, and real-time views from the International Space Station.
All of this will be launching on the platform free with your subscription, no extra cost required.
NASA's ad-free service, NASA+, which debuted in November 2023, was designed to modernise the old NASA TV and cater to younger audiences. Rebecca Sirmons, general manager of NASA+, says the move reflects changing viewing habits—“Linear TV is ending, and the next generation is on streaming”.

Initial streaming events include the Progress 92 cargo ship launch on 3 July and its docking on 5 July, giving sci-fi fans real-time thrill right from their couch. Beyond live missions, Netflix will also host documentaries like Cosmic Dawn: The Untold Story of the James Webb Telescope, along with new originals like Far Out with Megan Cruz and Space Out.
Importantly, NASA+ remains free and ad-free via the NASA website and app—with Netflix acting as a second window for a global audience of over 700 million subscribers. It’s a big leap in making space content more accessible and inspiring a new generation of stargazers.
