With nominations closing yesterday and campaigns kicking off today, the Irish presidential race is well underway.
Candidate and current president Michael D. Higgins has received a special message from an Irish icon.
In a letter written in the Irish Examier, famous puppet Bosco endorsed Michael D. writing "I love you and I HOPE you stay President forever! Your friend, Bosco xxxx"
There are five total candidates for the presidential election, Michael D. Higgins, Senator Joan Freeman, Sinn Féin MEP Liadh Ni Riada and Dragons Gavin Duffy and Sean Gallagher.
Polling is set to take place on October 26th.
