James Corden and Ruth Jones, the beloved co-creators of Gavin & Stacey, have agreed to a lucrative deal with Apple TV+ to develop a brand-new ten-part comedy-drama series.

The agreement is reported to be worth up to £8 million.

Filming is scheduled to begin in the UK in 2026, with the series expected to premiere on Apple TV+ in 2027. Although Corden and Jones will write—and potentially star in—the new show, it will feature entirely new characters and stories, distinct from those in Gavin & Stacey. The duo aims to recreate the warmth and humour fans cherished in their earlier work.

The project attracted heavy interest from several major platforms, including the BBC, Netflix, and Amazon Prime, but the commission ultimately went to Apple TV+. Corden’s established relationship with the streaming service—spanning shows such as Carpool Karaoke—is thought to have influenced the decision.
