It seems the team behind The Simpsons will do anything to get some publicity ahead of the new season. Earlier this week executive producer Al Jean said Homer and Marge will legally separate this year. However in a statement to The Wrap, he says they won't actually break up and says the couple are 'bigger than Jesus'.

They've also released an image of Bart writing 'Homer and Marge are not breaking up' on his classroom blackboard. It's also been revealed Bart will be killed this season, but fans shouldn't worry - his death is only temporary. Sideshow Bob will finally get his revenge on Bart in the show's annual Halloween episode.

It's also been confirmed actor Kelsey Grammer will return to voice Sideshow Bob in season 27, which begins in the US later in September.
