A teenager has died in a crash in north Dublin.

The 17 year-old boy was fatally injured after his motorbike collided with a bus at the junction of the R122 and the R108 at St. Margarets in Finglas.

It happened at around 7.50pm yesterday evening.

The 50 year-old bus driver was treated for shock at the scene but was uninjured.

The boy's body was removed from the scene to the mortuary, where a post mortem will take place.

Garda Collision Investigators carried out an examination of the scene last night and the road has now reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to any road users who may have been in the area at the time, particularly those with dash cam footage, to get in touch.

They can call Finglas Garda Station on 01 6667500, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
