Two young men have died in two separate crashes which happened within minutes of each other.

The first happened near Donabate in Dublin after 9pm last night, the second in Skibbereen in Cork barely an hour later.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses or camera footage from both of these scenes.

The first, at the junction of Hearse Road and Cobbe's lane near Donabate in county Dublin, involved a motorbike and a car.

It happened after 9 last night, and a man in his early 20s, who was travelling on the motorcycle, died at the scene.

His remains have been removed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown for a post mortem to take place.

Less than an hour later, the emergency services were called to a separate crash in Skibbereen in Cork.

A car and a jeep were involved, the driver of the car - a man in his mid 20s - was pronounced dead shortly after the collision.

He has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem is to take place.

The driver of the jeep, in his 40s, suffered non life threatening injuries and is being treated at CUH.

Investigating Gardai are appealing to people in both Dublin and Cork for information or video footage related to either crash.
