Two people have been arrested after a Garda pursuit in north Dublin.

As part of ongoing an investigation into the robbery of a car in the Blanchardstown area on Monday, Gardaí spotted the vehicle in Coolock in the early hours of this morning and began following it.

The car was intercepted and recovered on the R139, having been abandoned.

The two occupants of the car, a 20 year-old man and a teenage boy, fled on foot and were arrested for road traffic offences.

Both were taken to Coolock Garda Station for questioning.

The 20-year-old man has since been charged and released to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court early next month.

While the teenage boy has been released without charge.

Investigations are ongoing according to Gardaí.
