Infectious diseases consultant at St James's Hospital in Dublin, Cliona Ní Cheallaigh, says more restrictions may be needed;

"What's more important is how many of the cases become seriously unwell and require hospital care or have their lives threatened by Covid. So I think that will determine what level of restrictions to come in in the following weeks and we just don't know that yet."

396 Covid patients were in public hospitals last night, after a drop of 23 in the space of 24 hours. It's also down 61 on a week ago.
