A three-day pre-inquest hearing into the Stardust fire tragedy is starting today.

25  family members of victims have accepted an invitation to attend today's session in the RDS in Dublin.

The inquest is due to begin in October, over 40 years after 48 people died in the ballroom fire in north Dublin.

Survivor Antoinette Keegan is attending today's hearing - she hopes the truth emerges later this year.

"We're hoping we get the truth on public record, once and for all. Because our loved ones went out Friday the 13th and never came home Saturday the 14th. So we want to know what happened to our loved ones, like our human beings, our loved ones."

"We deserve to know why they died and how they died. We want to get the truth. If you don't get the truth you don't get closure."
