98% of drivers in urban areas break 30 kilometres per hour speed limits.
That's according to new figures released by the Road Safety Authority.
The Free Speed Study found that 1 in 4 drivers on rural roads is also guilty of the offence.
The survey also revealed that it's not just car drivers that are breaking the rules in a 30 zone.
68% of double-decker buses were found to be driving over a 30 kmph speed limit.
72% of articulated trucks and 58% of rigid trucks were also caught out speeding in these zones.
More than 16,600 vehicles were monitored for the survey, which found more than half of all drivers (52%) break the speed limit.
