Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to violent scenes before Sunday's FAI Cup final to contact them.

It happened at around 2.50pm on the Irishtown Road with a number of people assaulted and cars damaged.

Local Uniform Gardaí supported by the Garda National Public Order Unit attended the scene.

No serious injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made.

Gardai say images of the incident have been widely circulated on social media, and they're appealing for any witnesses or anyone who recorded this incident on their phone to come forward.

Gardaí are also appealing to any road user in the vicinity of the Irishtown Road at approximately 2:50pm who may have camera footage to make this footage available to them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Irishtown Garda Station on 01 666 9600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Bohemians FC says it condemns the behaviour of this minority unconditionally, adding: "Such behaviour has no place in our club."
